Volunteer-run community garden at Pine Reserve, Mitchell Street, Mornington, established in spring 2000 on a former croquet club. Individual, family and group memberships, with raised wheelchair-accessible beds, three propagation igloos, an outdoor kitchen with cob oven, orchard, vineyard, berry house, composting and worm farm, edible sensory garden and a frog pond. Runs regular workshops, working bees, a monthly food swap and an annual Open Day. Funds itself through the food swap, workshops and the sale of produce, seedlings and seeds. Group visits welcome by appointment.
From a bare paddock in 2000 to a vineyard, a cob oven and a frog pond that hosts breeding ducks each spring - all built and funded by volunteers selling their own seedlings.
