Peninsula Fresh Organics
Baxter, Mornington Peninsula
Certified-organic vegetable grower on the Mornington Peninsula, with an affiliated farm gate store in Baxter selling produce direct.
Peninsula Fresh Organics began in 2009, when Wayne and Tash started growing certified organic vegetables on a small 3-acre farm in Baxter on the Mornington Peninsula. As demand grew they expanded to 250 acres in Barham, NSW along the Murray River, 60 acres across two properties at Baxter, and most recently a new farm at Moorooduc. They cultivate around 20 varieties of vegetables — including radish, Asian greens, leeks, rainbow chard, lettuce varieties, broccoli and cauliflower — with many lines grown year-round. All produce is certified organic by Australian Certified Organic (ACO). They're affiliated with Peninsula Organic Farmgate, a separate retail store at 94 Baxter-Tooradin Road, Baxter Village, stocking their own produce alongside other certified-organic fruit, vegetables, meat (Cherry Tree Organics, Cleavers), dairy (Schulz, CSM, Barambah), eggs and pantry staples. The Farmgate also runs home delivery across the Mornington Peninsula and inner east / south-eastern Melbourne suburbs as far as Pakenham and Koo Wee Rup, with online ordering through Zupply ($40 minimum). Note: Peninsula Fresh Organics is the farming business; Peninsula Organic Farmgate is the affiliated retail store — separate entities.
